Education Projects
Alhabib Welfare Foundation provides access to education or vocational training to provide a way out of the poverty trap. Alhabib Welfare Foundation has initiated a number of village-based education projects in Azad Kashmir working directly with the villages to ensure that the projects are sustainable and relevant to their needs.
Without basic literacy or skills the opportunities for people to break free from the cycle of poverty are limited. Education opens up opportunities in employment, and lowers the risk of exploitation. For example, literate farmers are able to sell their crops for a higher price.

Alhabib provide education and training through the following activities:
- Providing children with Hifz courses.
- Constructing and rehabilitating classrooms, developing education centres and providing equipment and teaching staff to run these centres.
- Providing equipment for schools and other education centres.
- Training teachers.
Hifz is the memorization of the Qur’an. The Hifz course usually lasts three years: in which time the student also learns the basic essentials which would allow him to lead prayers. The Hifz course sponsorship caters for providing a student the means to complete this three year course.
